Embracing the Outdoors with Moorland: Our Journey in Sustainable Fashion and Conservation
At Moorland, we are more than just a clothing and accessories business, we are a family with a deep-rooted passion for the great outdoors. As a husband and wife team living in Devon with our young family, we have always been drawn to the moorlands that surround us. These landscapes are not just a backdrop to our lives; they are the heart of what we do and why we do it.
The benefits of spending time in nature are well-documented, providing both physical and mental well-being. However, as much as the outdoors nourishes us, these spaces are increasingly under threat. We believe it’s our responsibility to protect and restore them, not only for ourselves but for our children and future generations. This belief is the driving force behind Moorland.
Encouraging Exploration and Conservation
Our primary mission is to inspire as many people as possible to get outside and explore their surroundings. Whether it's a stroll through the local park, a hike along the cliffs, a wander through woodlands, or an adventure on the moors, we want to encourage a deeper connection with nature. We believe that by engaging with our customers through our products and content, we can foster a greater understanding of the delicate balance of our ecosystems and the urgent need to protect them.
To support this mission, we are dedicated to providing clothing and accessories made from organic or recycled materials wherever possible. Our products are more than just items of clothing; they are a statement, an expression of love for the outdoors and a commitment to preserving it.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
But our efforts don't stop there. We are also going to share our own outdoor adventures and provide information on the impact humans have on the environment through our blog. We aim to educate and inspire our community to make more sustainable choices, helping to prevent further decline in our planet's resources.
As we look to the future, we have big plans for Moorland. We aim to grow our presence in the sustainable clothing and accessories market, seeking collaborations that will allow us to offer 100% organic or recycled products, right down to our packaging. The next step will hopefully be to print all our products ourselves, giving us greater control on what materials are used and where they originate from. One of our longer-term goals is to introduce a "recycle your clothing" program, where customers can send us their unwanted items, these items will either be transformed into new products or passed on to those in need, giving them a second life.
We are also working towards becoming a B-Corp certified company. This certification will provide our customers with the reassurance that we are not only talking the talk but walking the walk when it comes to sustainability. Furthermore, we aim to join 1% for the Planet, committing at least 1% of our profits each year to environmental causes.

While we have many goals on the horizon, we know that change takes time. For now, we remain a small company with a big vision, promoting the beauty and importance of the outdoors through our words and products.
